It feels like 2021 is going to be a big year for Boba Fett. Ever since the character's reemergence in The Mandalorian, Star Wars fans have been itching for more of the bounty hunter. Marvel Comics is answering the call this May, and bringing along a few frenemies.
First revealed on StarWars.com, Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters will be an event series the entire month of May. The story will take place during the post-Empire Strikes Back era. The debut issue Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 kicks things off on May 5th. That issue will be written by Charles Soule with art from Steve McNiven.
Here is the official synopsis for the event series: "The notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett is on route to Tatooine to collect the massive bounty placed on Han Solo’s head by the fearsome crime lord Jabba the Hutt. But no one said it would be easy. The hunter becomes the hunted as pursuers from all corners of the galaxy set their sights on Boba and his precious cargo. Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Doctor Aphra, the galaxy’s deadliest bounty hunters, and more are all on a collision course that will reveal surprising new details about this long-unexplored era in the Star Wars mythos."

How appropriate that this all begins on "Revenge of the Fifth". Also very appropriate that Han Solo is the target. Sure we THINK we know how it all works out, but this story will likely reveal details that we weren't aware of before. There will be even more details in the Director's Cut of Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 that will also be available. Plus it will have the black and white art, along with some other bonuses.
