Ever since that end credit scene from the first Venom movie, fans have been craving one thing: Carnage. We finally got a decent look at the terrifying villain in the previous trailer that was released. In this new trailer, there's a lot of Carnage and a look at another villain as well. Take a look:
Real talk, has Woody Harrelson already nailed this role? There have only been a couple of trailer, but I'm serious. We've seen him play a psychopath before, but this has the potential to be right up there with one of his most popular roles. I really want to temper my expectations here, but it's difficult when each look is more impressive than the next as far as Carnage is concerned.
We also got our first look at Shriek. As if Eddie Brock doesn't have enough to deal with already. There isn't much of a hint at what kind of an impact that she will have based on this trailer, but could that be a hint? I don't care how powerful Venom is, he is going to need an ally. Since Spider-Man is off on a multiverse adventure with Doctor Strange at the moment, it seems more likely that we won't be seeing him. Could Shriek somehow fill that anti-hero role to help stop Carnage for the greater good? Not a whole lot of fun being a villain if the world around you is destroyed. Something to think about...
Now the last thing that makes me nervous. Since this movie has already been delayed, did you notice the release date on the trailer? Venom: Let There Be Carnage is now scheduled to be released "This Fall", only in theaters. I figured that September 24th would be a done deal, but seeing that, I can't be sure. I don't think we have passed the point of no return as far as a delay goes, but hopefully that won't happen again. Keep checking back for more of our coverage.
