‘Venom’ Sequel Adds A Second Villain

When the sequel for Venom was announced, the excitement was that we were getting Venom vs Carnage. Now it looks like it could be a triple threat match. Deadline reports that Shriek has also been added to the movie.

It’s not like Carnage needs the help, but Shriek does have a connection to him in the comics. This seems like a lot for Venom to handle, so it begs the question of whether or not we could see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man at some point in the movie. Of course, when Woody Harrelson was cast in the original Venom, that ended up just being for the end credit stinger of Cletus Kasaday. It’s certainly possible that the same could be true of Shriek.

Sony has declined to comment, and there are no names tied to the role just yet. We’ll know for sure in a year when Venom 2 hits theaters on October 2, 2020.
