There have certainly been a few adaptations of Cinderella over the years. From the animated classic that we all know, to some modern takes, there have been no shortage of attempts to re-create the magic. Enter Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures, hoping they can strike a cord with a musical version. Take a look at the first full trailer.
Of course, you can see superstar Camila Cabello in the title role. She’s joined by plenty of other big names like Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter
and Pierce Brosnan. Kay Cannon of Pitch Perfect fame is the writer and director. Producers include Leo Pearlman, James Corden, Jonathan Kadin and Shannon McIntosh.
The description provided by Amazon is pretty short, but the trailer kind of speaks for itself. The quick logline says: “Cinderella is a modern musical with a bold take on the story you grew up with. Our ambitious heroine (Camilla Cabello) has big dreams and with the help of her Fab G, she perseveres to make them come true.”
Here’s hoping that this will be the unique spin in the story that we have been waiting for. Cinderella premieres September 3rd on Amazon Prime Video. Check back for updates and our continuing coverage.
