Ok…let’s try this ONE MORE TIME. To say that The Flash solo movie has had a rocky road is a huge understatement. The project has gone through several directors, writers and release dates. Warner Bros. Pictures is giving it another go, announcing a new date and creative team.
The Wrap reports that The Flash will now release on July 1, 2022. It director Andy Muschietti is in talks to to join the project, along with Birds of Prey (And The Fabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn) writer Christina Hodson. Seems to me that Warner has a lot of faith in Birds of Prey in order to hire the same writer for another DC project. Of course, if that movie has trouble at the box office, that could end up changing everything once again for the Scarlet Speedster.
I really hope that I am not updating this story in March saying that this movie is off again. Hopefully we will have some sort of an update at WonderCon 2020.
