‘The Boys’ Adds ‘Supernatural’ Star Jensen Ackles For Season 3

Fans of Supernatural know that the show will be ending soon. The cast knows that even more, and now, one of the biggest names has been added to another major series. According to Variety, Jensen Ackles has been cast in Season 3 of The Boys. Ackles will reunite with Eric Kripke, who is the showrunner for The Boys and also created Supernatural.

Season 2 of The Boys hasn't even been released yet, so this might be a small clue as to where the show will be headed beyond that. Ackles will play Soldier Boy, a character fans will know well from the comics. He was THE original Supe-celebrity, who fought in World War II. So we might not know how he will play a role in the show going forward, but we do know this should create some interesting dynamics going forward. If the character is true to the comics, this should create a very interesting story with Homelander. Of course, the show does not follow the comics exactly, so I would be interested to see what changes might be made.

You can see Ackles make the announcement himself on Instagram:

Season 2 of The Boys will premiere on September 4th on Amazon Prime Video. Look for our review, coming soon!
