It sounds like The CW will be more than just a silent partner to DC Universe when it comes to Stargirl. After releasing a teaser that could barely pass for a first look, a legitimate trailer has been released. The interesting part is, it didn’t come from DC Universe, who will air episodes of Stargirl first. So here is The CW giving us a much better look the upcoming series:
This seems more in line with what we find in the comics, with some creative liberties taken, of course. We also get to see how big the staff is in relation to Brec Bassinger’s Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl.
As for the synopsis: Stargirl follows Courtney Whitmore (played by Bassinger), a high school student who discovers her stepfather once served as sidekick to the superhero Starman. Courtney becomes the new wielder of Starman’s Cosmic Staff in order to usher in a new era of superheroes as Stargirl. The series will feature multiple other DC characters, including members of the Justice Society of America and the Injustice Society.
We’ll all find out when Stargirl premieres in the Spring of 2020.
