‘King-Size Conan’ To Celebrate 50 Years Of Conan Comics

Marvel hasn’t had the publishing rights to Conan The Barbarian long, but they are already planning a celebration. Did you know that there have been 50 years of Conan comics? So Marvel thought it would be fun to get a super-sized creative team together for King-Size Conan #1. Before I tell you some of the surprising names that will be involved, Marvel actually put together a trailer for the release.

That artwork is incredible isn’t it? That comes from the talents of Steve McNiven, Pete Woods, Roberto de la Torre, Kevin Eastman, and Jesus Saiz. Yes, THE Kevin Eastman, who will also write one of the stories. Others telling their Conan tales are Steven S. DeKnight, director and showrunner of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, Chris Claremont, Kurt Busiek and legendary Conan writer Roy Thomas.

“Being Marvel, we’re going to celebrate this amazing anniversary of this classic character that’s become such a part of all our lives just like any other Marvel super hero,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski.

Story details, outside of the trailer, are not available yet. Good news is, Conan will be home for the holidays. King-Size Conan #1 will be available on December 23rd at your local comic book shops and digital retailers.
