It seems like the excitement level for the Peacemaker series from James Gunn and John Cena is pretty high. Since we haven’t seen The Suicide Squad yet, one question that fans were wondering was: who will we see in this prequel series? HBO Max shed some more light on that with today’s casting announcements.
We already knew that Steve Agee would be playing John Economos. Now they will be joined by Danielle Brooks (“Orange Is the New Black;” “The Color Purple” on Broadway) as Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick (“Terminator 2: Judgment Day;” HBO’s “Perry Mason”) as Auggie Smith, Jennifer Holland who will reprise her role of Emilia Harcourt from “The Suicide Squad” and Chris Conrad (“Perpetual Grace, LTD.;” “Patriot”) as Vigilante/Adrian Chase.
Having Vigilante and Peacemaker in the same series seems like the most interesting revelation. Could we see them as potential adversaries? I can’t help but wonder if any other members of The Suicide Squad will appear in smaller roles. The series is set to begin production in early 2021.
