By now we're all familiar with Kate Beckinsale taking care of business against the bad guys. From Underworld to Van Helsing and plenty of films in between, she's a force. This time around, she's suffering from some of the worst anger issues possible. While we don't have a trailer yet, you can see a first look at Beckinsale in her upcoming Amazon Prime Video movie, Jolt.
She might not look mad in that shot, but you have to figure that she is handcuffed to a pipe for a reason. Could it be because her character, Lindy, could snap at any second? The cure isn't pretty either.
In Jolt, "Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically-funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect."
Joining Beckinsale in the cast are Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox, David Bradley, Ori Pfeffer, with Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci. Doesn't this just feel like one of those times where Jai Courtney is going to be the instigator? Just call it a hunch. Tanya Wexler serves as director of the script written by Scott Wascha.
We're only about a month away from the premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The rage begins when Jolt hits Amazon Prime Video on July 23rd from Amazon Studios and Millennium Media. We should have a trailer soon, so keep checking back.
