I’m probably showing my age here, but The Real Ghostbusters was required viewing for me growing up. Sure it didn’t capture the tone of the Ghostbusters movie, but it was a lot of fun. I will say that I don’t remember it running for seven seasons, probably because that’s not the kind of thing that you notice as a kid. Thanks to Netflix, now my kids might get the same joy.
Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation announced today, on Ghostbusters Day, that a new animated series based on the Ghostbusters IP was in development. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, the minds behind Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the future of Ghost Corps Inc., will serve as executive producers for this series. More details are expected to be revealed today during Geeked Week, so this post might be updated.
We do not have any details at this time, other than this will be a part of the Netflix Kids & Family lineup. So not necessarily targeted toward adults, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it too. Keep checking back for updates.
