The updates and news surrounding the coronavirus pandemic have been a very quickly evolving situation. Wednesday, March 11th seemed to be a particularly big day in terms of news. Production on the set of Riverdale, which takes place in Vancouver, has been shut down due to concerns over the virus. The news was first broken by USA Today TV Editor, Gary Levin.
Warner Bros. has shut down production on #Riverdale in Vancouver because a member of the cast or crew has had contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.

It's worth noting here that, as of me writing this, there is no confirmed infection of anyone involved in the production. All the report says is that someone from the cast or crew was in contact with someone that has the virus. That is a very important distinction. Warner Bros. TV definitely did the right thing in shutting down production and focusing on the health and wellness of the Riverdale team. Some fans have taken to social media to speculate as to who could have come into contact with an infected individual, but I won't be furthering that rumor mill.
Once something is confirmed by Warner Bros., or the infected individual themselves, all I will say is that I hope for the best and that no one is actually infected. Anyone who might be, I wish them a speedy recovery. On the business side of things, there is no word on when production will resume or if this will effect the length of the current season.
