This is the rumor that we have been waiting for confirmation on for a long time. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will reprise their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane in a spinoff series titled Superman And Lois on The CW according to Variety. Wait it gets better. Here is the initial synopsis:
The series would follow the world’s most famous super hero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures, and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
You know what that means? We could very well see the addition of Jonathan Kent to the show. Todd Helbing, former showrunner of The Flash, will write the pilot and executive producer with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns. Remember, Helbing stepped away from The Flash to focus on the overall development of series for Warner Bros. TV. This would be a big one, so no surprise that we would see him involved in this one.
We last saw the Super couple in last year’s Elseworlds crossover episodes. I should mention that this is only a pilot order for now, but I can’t imagine this show not being picked up. We could be seeing a whole new phase (for lack of a better term) for the Arrowverse. This new series, along with Green Arrow And The Canaries sounds like a great start to me.
