‘Wings Of Fire’ Being Developed As Animated Series By Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Animation is about to give fans another first. The New York Times #1 best seller, Wings of Fire is being developed as a high-end serialized animated series. So what makes this a first?

Ava DuVernay will be the one developing the series. This would be the first ever animation project from DuVernay. If successful, this is a series that could be around for a while. The the middle grade fantasy book series from Tui T. Sutherland covers 15 novels, three graphic novels and four short stories. That’s a lot of canon!

In case you’re not familiar with Wings of Time, “is an epic adventure set in a world entirely ruled by dragons. Across two continents and 10 tribes, the series explores vicious wars, enduring friendships, and heroic quests that span generations of fascinating dragon characters.”

Joining DuVernay as executive producers will be Dan Milano (Glitch Techs), Christa Starr, Tui T. Sutherland and WBA’s Sam Register (Teen Tians Go!). This is part of an overall deal between Warner Bros. and DuVernay’s ARRAY Filmworks. Keep checking back for updates on a release date and where you will be able to see it.
