Wayne Brady Makes A Deal To Recur On ‘Black Lightning’

Remember when Jon Cryer was cast as Lex Luthor on Supergirl and some fans wondered how that would work? I’d say that worked out pretty well. I can only imagine what fans will say about this.

Entertainment Tonight reports that funny man and game show host Wayne Brady will recur on Black Lightning this season. Brady would play Tyson Spikes, aka Gravedigger, a World War II-era member of the U.S. military who became a “super soldier” after a secret experiment gifted him with enhanced strength, agility, tactical genius and hand-to-hand combat expertise. He will be a part of the impending Markovian threat on the show, but will not appear until 2020 (so post-Crisis.)

Brady is certainly talented, but we haven’t seen much of him outside of the comedy/improv genre. Fans might remember his stint on USA Network’s Colony as Everett Kynes. Still, seeing Brady play the villain will be quite a departure and quite interesting. I can’t wait to find out what Brady can bring to the role. Maybe he’ll just ask residents of Freeland if they want to keep what they have or pick what’s behind the curtain? As soon as we get a first look at Brady as Gravedigger, I will pass it along.
