The one question I think we all had going in to DC FanDome was: will we find out who’s who in The Suicide Squad? As usual, James Gunn did not disappoint. Before bringing the cast on for the panel, Gunn revealed a roll call of his Squad. In case you missed it, here is it:

Savant (Michael Rooker), Javelin (Flula Borg), Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), King Shark, Mongal (Mayling Ng), The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Solsoria (Alice Braga), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), TDK (Nathan Fillion), Weasel (Sean Gunn) and The Peacemaker (John Cena). Gunn took to social media to share these posters shortly after the panel.
Some of these were rumors, and now are confirmed. Dastmalchian was long rumored to play Polka Dot Man, as was Cena to play Peacemaker. Capaldi as The Thinker might be my favorite of all of the surprises. Some of these names might lead even hardcore DC fans to the Google machine, but that’s the beauty of this movie at first glance.
Speaking of first glances, while we did not get a trailer, we did get a behind the scenes video with some footage. Check it out:
James Gunn said in the panel that this was the most fun he has had working on a movie. He also said that this is the best cast he has ever worked with. Both statements are high praise from the director, but seeing them together, it’s obvious how much fun this group has together.
We’ll all find out just how good this movie will be when The Suicide Squad premieres August 6, 2020 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
