Strange things are happening to the ladies of London. I feel like I have been waiting forever for news on the upcoming HBO series, The Nevers. Well, today is the day. Not only did HBO announce the premiere window for the six episode series, we have a teaser trailer as well.
In The Nevers, “In the last years of Victoria’s reign, London is beset by the “Touched”: people – mostly women – who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities – some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces – to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.”
Along with the incredible Laura Donnelly, you will see Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson, Amy Manson, Pip Torrens, Denis O’Hare, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin. More info on the cast can be found here.
The Nevers was created and executive produced by Joss Whedon. Fellow executive producers include Bernadette Caulfield, Ilene S. Landress, Doug Petrie, Jane Espenson and Philippa Goslett (who is the new showrunner). Whedon has since exited the series in November after saying he was “genuinely exhausted” (per Cinemablend).
While an exact date is not yet known, The Nevers will arrive on HBO and HBO Max this April. Keep checking back for updates and our continued coverage.
