‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Production Resumes; Anthony Mackie Shares A New Look Suit

Things might still be crazy as a whole in this world, but there are some signs that things are slowly returning to normal (or at least new normal.) Production on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had been shut down for months, just like many other series and movies, due to COVID-19 concerns. We now appear to have confirmation that cameras are indeed rolling once again in Atlanta.

Anthony Mackie, who plays The Falcon of course, took to Twitter during one of his breaks from filming to post the update. He also gave us what appears to be a look at a new suit for Sam. See the post:

Sure it's in black and white, but you can clearly see that he is sporting a new look. The lack of color is completely deliberate. Are those Captain America colors? Does anyone see a star anywhere? What about wings? Yes, it poses a list of questions, but for now, let's just celebrate the fact that cameras are rolling again. Plus, you know that they have to save some surprises for the full trailer or first look poster. We did get to see Sam throwing a shield in one of the short trailers, so that's something.

The real question is, how much do they still have left to shoot? That will be a huge factor in determining if we will see The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2020 or 2021. Obviously, the health and safety of everyone involved in the production is the first priority. It would be surprising to learn that plans had to change somewhat due to the new restrictions. Events in some of these series are likely tied to a Marvel Studios film in some way, which could also affect how these series need to be released. For example, reports suggest that WandaVision could somehow be tied to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. We also have She Hulk, Ms. Marvel and other Disney+ series that will hopefully go into production soon. For now, all we can do is wait.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier currently does not have a release date. Keep checking back for updates.
