‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ Returns To Theaters For It’s 40th Anniversary

If you never got to see the original Star Trek movie in theaters, now you can boldly go! Fathom Events and Paramount Pictures will team up to re-release the original motion picture nationwide on September 15th and 18th. You read that right, you only have two days to catch it.

If you go to one of these special screenings, there will be an added bonus. Before the film, you will be able to see the behind-the-scenes documentary short “The Longest Trek: Writing the Motion Picture.” This is the first nationwide release of the movie since 1979, and who knows if/when it will be released like this again.

Normally this is the part in one of these stories where you’d see who is in the cast and a quick synopsis. This is the ORIGINAL Star Trek, I do not feel like I need to do that. Actually, I feel like I would insult your intelligence by doing that. So, the only logical thing to do here is let you know that tickets for the screenings will go on sale August 2nd.
