"Be careful what you wish for, Parker." That line stood out so much to me that it keeps repeating in my head. After a very long wait, we finally have the first official teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. While it doesn't give away too much, there were a couple of confirmations and even a few teases dropped along the way. See for yourself:
So, we knew that Alfred Molina would be returning as Doc Ock, but this trailer certainly served as confirmation. We also got a pretty big Green Goblin tease. You could make the argument that we also saw teases for Electro, Sandman and Lizard as well. If that were true, we would be one short of a potential Sinister Six, wouldn't we? See, I'm already starting to get way ahead of myself. One teaser trailer drops, and I join in on the random fan theories that have been floating around.
What the trailer really centers around is Peter Parker wanting the world to forget that he is Spider-Man. We see what's it's doing to his life and the life of everyone around him. So he goes to Doctor Strange for help. The most interesting part of this trailer for me is how Peter essentially screws up the spell that was cast to help him in the first place. The chain reaction of event that this sets off should really be fun.
I want to save the rest of my thoughts for Episode 382 of the podcast this week. So let me just remind you that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be in theaters on December 17th from Columbia Pictures and Marvel. After Sony's comments at CinemaCon, I wouldn't hold out hope for any kind of digital release. Will this be the only trailer that we get? When we have more updates, we'll pass them along.
