‘Prodigal Son’ Adds An Oscar Winner To The Season 2 Cast

After an intense Season 1 finale, and a great season overall, it looks like Fox has added a major name to Season 2 of Prodigal Son. TVLine reports that Catherine Zeta-Jones will join the cast in the latter part of the season. Apparently, this spells trouble for Michael Sheen’s Martin Whitly.

Zeta-Jones will play Dr. Vivian Capshaw, the resident doctor at Claremont Psychiatrics. It looks like Whitly will be assigned to the infirmary, which should be interesting. Doctor to doctor, that could create a very interesting dynamic.

“An extraordinary talent, Catherine Zeta-Jones is the perfect foil for the brilliant Michael Sheen,” said Michael Thorn, President, FOX Entertainment, in a statement to TVLine. “I can’t wait to see these two greats go head-to-head in a season that is bound to raise the bar set by an outstanding Season 1.”

Season 2 of Prodigal Son kicks off Tuesday, January 12th on Fox. Make sure you listen to Episode 349 of our podcast for a conversation with the showrunners, Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver.
