‘Power Rangers’ Announces 30th Season Plans, New Title

When you think of shows that have been on the air for what seems like forever, you probably think of The Simpsons or maybe Law & Order: SVU. You might not even realize that Power Rangers has been airing for almost three decades now.  Hasbro's entertainment studio, Entertainment One, has announced that the show will indeed get that landmark 30th Season next year.

Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury will be the title of this latest iteration, set to start filming this Fall in New Zealand.  One of the interesting things about this upcoming season is that the cast of Power Rangers: Dino Fury will actually be returning for this new iteration.  As the title suggests, the team will be headed to space, but we don't know why just yet.  So that means will see Russell Curry, Hunter Deno, Jordon Fite, Kai Moya, Chance Perez, and Tessa Rao reprising their roles. Showrunner Simon Bennett and writers Becca Barnes and Alywn Dale will also be returning.

"Since the first episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury, this team of Power Rangers has broken the mold of the franchise in many ways, so it is exciting and humbling to be able to continue the story of these characters in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury," said Bennett. "Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2 ends with some big revelations, and we’re so grateful to Hasbro and eOne that we get to continue to tell these stories in a brand new way."

The second half of Power Rangers: Dino Fury Season 2 will actually be premiering on September 29th exclusively on Netflix.  The good news for collectors is, the toy line for the series is available right now.  I'd say that's great news headed out of Power Rangers Day yesterday (August 28th).  We'll have more updates on what's going on with the series in the coming weeks.
