Peacock Is Ready For ‘Departure’ For Another New Series

Be honest: how comfortable would you feel getting on an airplane right now? For me, it’s hard to think of when that will feel safe again thanks to COVID. Having a plane disappear doesn’t exactly paint the picture of “friendly skies” either, but Peacock is on the case. Check out the trailer for Departure.

If your investigative team is led by Archie Panjabi and Christopher Plummer, you’re in good shape. The series also stars Kris Holden-Reid (Umbrella Academy), Rebecca Liddiard (Run This Town), Tamara Duarte (Longmire), Mark Rendall (Versailles), Peter Mensah (Midnight, Texas) and Sasha Roiz (Suits). The series was created by Vince Shiao and directed by TJ Scott. Executive producers include Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Malcolm MacRury, TJ Scott and Archie Panjabi.

The official synopsis doesn’t offer many more clues, but here it is:
“Passenger plane Flight 716 shockingly vanishes, and brilliant investigator Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi, The Good Wife), alongside her mentor Howard Lawson (Christopher Plummer, Knives Out) are brought on to lead the investigation. When battling forces threaten to undermine their work, Kendra must find the truth and stop it from happening again.”

Is there a conspiracy at play here or is it something else? Hopefully we get more answers when Departure unveils it’s six episodes on September 17th on the Peacock streaming service. You know we’ll be all over this one, so check back for a review.
