New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Game Goes Full Retro

There are two things that pretty much every Turtles fan holds near and dear: the original animated series and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game. In the words of George Costanza, “Those are my two passions, it’s only natural to combine them.” So Dotemu and Tribute Games teamed up for the brawler of our dreams. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is coming soon to Steam and it looks incredible. See for yourself.

It’s just a trailer, but so far, I love everything about this. A side scrolled with pixel graphics speaks to me in a big way. Things aren’t all retro. The mechanics have been enhanced, and you’ll be able to play with up to three other players at a time. There will also be a new story mode. This is like your favorite pizza, but with extra toppings.

Here is a summary of the story from the Dotemu website: “With Bebop and Rocksteady assaulting Channel 6 and stealing super gnarly devices to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge sees the Turtles battling across a righteous range of timeless TMNT locations. From Manhattan and Coney Island, to city rooftops and dank sewers, help the fearsome foursome trounce Foot Soldiers, Triceraton Warriors, and Rock Troops all the way to Dimension X!”

I’m not sure how much more convincing that you could possibly need. So head over to Steam to add it to your wishlist now. Keep checking back for updates.
