Netflix Releases Details For “The Magic Order” Series Adaptation

It almost feels like forever since Netflix acquired Millarworld. When that happened, The Magic Order was the first story that was announced. Several issues of the comic book series later, we finally have more details about the screen adaptation.

In a press release Netflix announced that James Wan (Aquaman;
Furious 7) and Lindsey Beer (Chaos
Walking; Sierra Burgess is a Loser) have joined Mark Millar as executive producers of The Magic Order. Wan will direct the first episode, with Beer serving as showrunner. This is a big get for Netflix, as Wan is a very hot commodity right now. Beer is also no stranger to the world of comics, as she currently working the on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, and is credited as working on the M.A.S.K. movie for Hasbro.

By day they live among us as our neighbors, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness — unless the darkness gets them first.The Magic Order was created in-house at Netflix by Mark Millar and later turned into a comic-book, written by Millar and illustrated by the legendary Marvel artist Olivier Coipel, based on designs created by the team at Netflix.
