There’s no denying that Marvel Studios is entering not just a new chapter, but an new novel entirely. While some of the names and faces might be the same, Phase 4 will bring a fresh list of movies and some of the biggest risks to date for the powerhouse studio. The future was put on display in a new featurette released by Marvel today.
A few things of note here, aside from the release dates. We finally got a minor glimpse at Eternals. I’m not sure we got more than a 15 second look, but it’s something. We also got updated titles for a couple of sequels. The Black Panther sequel will not be called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Perhaps the most interesting is the title of the Captain Marvel sequel, which is now being called The Marvels. We knew Ms. Marvel would be appearing in the upcoming film, but the title suggests that it could be far more than that.
So, here is a summary of all of the titles listed in the video, with their release dates:
- Black Widow – 7/9/21
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – 9/3/21
- Eternals – 11/5/21
- Spider-Man: No Way Home – 12/17/21
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – 3/25/22
- Thor: Love And Thunder – 5/6/22
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 7/8/22
- The Marvels 11/11/22
- Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantimania – 2/17/23
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – 5/5/23
- Fantastic 4 – No date
Hopefully we will get a full trailer for Eternals soon, but clearly there is a lot to look forward to. With the exception of Black Widow (which will also get a Disney+ release), all of these films are scheduled to be released in theaters only. That is also something to keep an eye on going forward. Which one are you looking forward to the most?
