It’s that time again for Marvel to start fresh with certain characters and titles. You can hear my review of Deadpool #1 coming up on Episode 292 of the podcast, but he’s not the only one with a new title and creative team. Writer Donny Cates and artist Nic Klein are about to take Thor by storm. Check out the trailer:
In Thor #1, The War of the Realms has ended, and the gleaming realm of Asgard finds itself at peace. However, the illusion of security is shattered when a cosmic cataclysm takes its toll on Asgard and its people. In order to prevent further disaster, All-Father Thor makes an impossible choice, leading him to wield power the likes of which he’s never dreamed of before.
In a statement, Cates said, “I like to dive deep into mythology, into lore, into gods, and now I get to play with them and build them up and build their mythology out and break them. Break all of them.”
You won’t have to wait long to see what it’s all about. Kick off New Year’s Day 2020 with Thor #1 at your local shop and digital retailers. Final order cutoff is November 25th.
