We have seen longtime enemies join forces before in the pages of our favorite comics. What about two forces that have been at war for what seems like forever? The Kree and Skrulls have set their sights on Earth in an upcoming story from Marvel. Here is a trailer for Empyre #1:
Obviously, from the trailer you can see the great art from Valerio Schiti. The story will also be written by Al Ewing and Dan Slott. “If you’re a longtime Marvel reader, this is going to pay off so many big things,” promises Slott. “If you’re a Marvel reader who started yesterday, welcome to the rich legacy of the Marvel Universe.”
Those are some bold words from Slott, but based on the synopsis, he might not be wrong. See for yourself: "The return of the Celestial Messiah to the Blue Area of the Moon sets off a new chapter in the Kree/Skrull War—only this time, it’s a Kree/Skrull Alliance aimed directly at Earth, and only the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and more of Earth’s heroes stand in their way."
Empyre #1 will be available April 15, 2020 from Marvel Comics.
