Since it's debut in 2018, Lost In Space has been a sci-fi fan favorite. Having a successful reboot of a series within the genre is rare, but Netflix really pulled it off with this updated version. Now the Robinson family is facing their final journey. The third season will be the show's last, and we'll see the conclusion before the end of the year.
First, let's take a look at the teaser trailer for the final season:
The stakes are usually high in the final season of any series, and this official synopsis confirms it: "In the third and final season of Lost in Space, the stakes are higher than ever and the Robinson family's survival instincts will be put to the ultimate test. After a year of being trapped on a mysterious planet, Judy, Penny, Will and the Robot must lead the 97 young Colonists in a harrowing evacuation -- but not before secrets are unearthed that will change their lives forever. Meanwhile John and Maureen -- with Don at their side -- must battle overwhelming odds as they try to reunite with their kids. The Robinsons will have to grapple with the emotional challenge of not just being lost -- but being separated from the ones they love... as they face the greatest alien threat yet."
Zack Estrin continues as the show's creator, showrunner and executive producer. The cast of Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio and Parker Posey also return for a final time. There will be a slight difference, as this season will run only eight episodes instead of the usual ten. All that says to me is that there will be no wasted time, and things will be full throttle from start to finish.
Keeping with the unconventional nature, Netflix will release Season 3 of Lost In Space on December 1st. That's a Wednesday, not the usual Thursday or Friday slots that series get released in on streamers. That could be because of how crowded of a schedule December will be across the board. Getting an early start only helps fans have time to watch the series and enjoy it. Just in case you're not caught up, you can go to www.netflix.com/lostinspace to catch up or save the final season to your list. We'll have more updates as they come in.
