Since the start of this pandemic, we've all been a bit distracted. So, there might be a few upcoming shows that you might not have heard about. Well, it's time for me to bring you to the kingdom of Crossing Swords. This new 10-episode series is coming to Hulu on June 12th. Take a look at the first trailer:
I bet you didn't expect that, do did you? Sure it might look a bit preschool at first, until you see blood and nudity. Now that I've got your attention, here is the synopsis: "Patrick is a good hearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle however his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Even worse, Patrick’s valor made him the black sheep in his family, and now his criminal siblings have returned to make his life hell. War, murder, full frontal nudity—who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?"
This series comes from the minds of John Harvatine IV and Tom Root who were Executive Producers of Robot Chicken. Harvatine IV will also be directing the series. The series also boasts quite a cast list that includes Nicholas Hoult, Adam Ray, Tara Strong, Tony Hale, Luke Evans, Seth Green, Alanna Ubach, Adam Pally, Yvette Nicole Brown, Maya Erskine, Breckin Meyer and Wendi McClendon-Covey. Hoult is the voice of Patrick, but the others have not been revealed yet. You could probably pick out a few just based on hearing some of their past work.
If this show is this unpredictable in a 90 second trailer, imagine what the episode are like. I'll have a full review coming up on a future podcast, and maybe a few other things along the way. Keep checking back for updates.
