When I was growing up, I had pretty much all of the 'Masters of the Universe' action figures. I also had Castle Grayskull, so I clearly had the power. It seems like it's been forever since we have had something new from the He-Man world, but Eternia has graced us with something that could be VERY cool.
It was announced at Power-Con this past weekend that a new 'Master of the Universe' anime series would be coming to Netflix. This new partnership with Mattel also includes Kevin Smith serving as executive producer and showrunner. Rob David from Mattel Television will also be a producer on the show. 'Master of the Universe: Revelation' will apparently deal with "what could be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor", according to Smith.
If that wasn't enough, Powerhouse Animation will oversee the animation process. Yes, THAT Powerhouse Animation that works on the incredible 'Castlevania' series for Netflix. So that pretty much erases any doubt as to how this will look visually. The writing seems in good hands as well, with Eric Carrasco ('Supergirl'), Tim Sheridan ('Reign of the Supermen'), Diya Mishra ('Magic the Gathering') and Marc Bernardin ('Alphas').
There was no official release date given, but rumors are circulating that it will be sometime in 2021. Continue to check back from updates!
