It’s hard to go into battle when you don’t have your leader. In the case of the Halo series, this comes from behind the camera. LRM reports that director M.J. Bassett is leaving the project due to delays brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
While promoting her upcoming film Rogue, Bassett revealed that she would be unable to return due to commitments to another project. Halo had barely hit the start button before production was shut down. She revealed that she had only been on set two days before things came to a halt.
Bassett did express disappointment for not being able to return. She also said that Pablo Schreiber is going to be an amazing Master Chief. No more information about the series was revealed.
It’s too early to know how quickly a new director will be named. With the series already in a holding pattern, there is certainly time to bring someone in and get them up to speed. More on this as it develops.
