Dark Horse Comics Teams With 12 Gauge Comics For ‘Kill Whitey Donovan’

Finding a good western isn't easy.  Whether it's the page or the screen, it seems like it's a genre that is hard to get right these days.  Dark Horse Comics has had success in the past (see Kingsway West), so they just might be able to do it again with a new twist.  This time, Dark Horse will team with 12 Gauge Comics for a brand new revenge thriller, Kill Whitey Donovan.

Here is the synopsis that Dark Horse provided:

Kill Whitey Donovan, after Anna Hoyt’s sister commits suicide, she sets off for Atlanta to kill the man responsible for destroying her family—her fiancé, Jim “Whitey” Donovan. But Anna, a spirited though pampered daughter of a prominent doctor, can't do it alone. To get through the hell that lay between her Alabama home and Atlanta, she makes a deal with one of the Donovan slaves, Hattie Virgil, who has an agenda of her own. In exchange for a chance at freedom, Hattie, a survivor, will lead this unlikely pair on a quest that will change them both forever.

Sounds interesting, and the cover (seen above) certainly jumps out and demands attention.  This story will also mark the comic book debut of writer Sydney Duncan (The Revelation of Gabriel Adam, The Salvation of Gabriel Adam, and The Evolution of Gabriel Adam) and artist Natalie Barahona. 12-Gauge Comics Art Director, Brian Stelfreeze, acted as a historical consultant and editor.  It seems like this will be just the first installment in what will be a larger story.

The first issue of Kill Whitey Donovan will be out December 4, 2019 at your local comic book shops and digital retailers.  Will you be going on this revenge trip with them?
