The TCA Summer Event just dropped some BIG news over the weekend. Probably the biggest of the presentation from The CW is the addition of two big names and character to the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' crossover. The first is a connection that it seemed like we would never see.
Cress Williams has confirmed that 'Black Lightning' will indeed be a part of the crossover! As a matter of fact, he took to Instagram to do just that:
It seemed like the 'Black Lightning' series might just remain on it's own, but if there was ever a time to make that connection, Crisis is it. There are no details on if any other characters from the show would also be involved, or which part of the crossover that Black Lightning would appear during. I can tell you that Cress Williams was very coy about it when he was asked about it at Comic-Con this year. Could this have been a last minute addition?
That wasn't the only big surprise of the day. Plenty of fans will tell you that Kevin Conroy is their Batman, and I am certainly not going to argue with that. Now he will finally step out of the voiceover booth and into live action. Conroy will play an older Bruce Wayne in the Crisis crossover event. I don't even care if it's just an easter egg or is just a tribute to Conroy. This is an amazing way to not only pay homage to the work that Conroy has done, but again to give fans something that they thought they would never see. Conroy could not have sent a more perfect tweet than this one:

Speaking of the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' crossover, we also know what the schedule will be. Look at it closely, because it looks like we're in for a mid-crossover cliffhanger:
- Sunday, December 8th - 'Supergirl' 8 p.m. ET
- Monday, December 9th - 'Batwoman' 8 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, December 10th - 'The Flash' 8 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, January 14 - 'Arrow' 8 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, January 14 - 'Legends of Tomorrow' 9 p.m. ET
I know what you're thinking, "WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT!?" Look, I get it, but it will make for some very interesting conversations over the Christmas break. The fact that the final episode before the break just happens to be The Flash, could also be the "vanishing point". All I know is, the hype just keeps getting bigger and bigger for this event. It really seems like everyone involved will stop at nothing to make sure the fans get exactly what they want (and maybe even a few things we didn't even know that we needed.)
What are your hopes for this upcoming crossover?
