Fett fans are finally about to have their patience rewarded, times two. The Hollywood Reporter was first to report that not only would we see Boba Fett in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, but he would be played by Temuera Morrison. Yes, the same man who played Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
Here’s the bad news, or the good news, depending on your perspective. Boba Fett is said to play only a minor role in this upcoming season of the Disney+ series. The way I see it, The Mandalorian succeeded with largely unknown characters, an original storyline and Baby Yoda. There is no need to now, in Season 2, flip that script and start bringing in names. The Rosario Dawson thing would be different, because Ahsoka Tano has yet to appear in live action. I really don’t want to see Boba Fett play a big role in anything, unless it’s his own series.
Still, it will be good to see Morrison in the role. It seems like he was destined to play the character in live action at some point. He has voiced the character in the past.
More on this as it develops. Season 2 of The Mandalorian premieres this October on Disney+.
