As a father of three kids under the age of ten, there’s a lot of YouTube videos begin played in my house. That means I know that there is a lot of weird, and sometimes very bad stuff out there. Conversely, there are also some really surprising and high quality creations that are ready to take things to the next level. YouTube creator James Rallison is certainly one of the good ones, and he is bringing those talents to Netflix with a new animated series.
Netflix has announced a new animated series, Oddballs, from Rallison and fellow creator Ethan Banville. They will serve as executive producers along with Carl Faruolo and Michael Zoumas, in partnership with Atomic Cartoons. Additional executive producers include Jennifer Twiner McCarron, Matthew Berkowitz and Aaron Behl with Supervising Producer Sarah Soh.
Here is the official synopsis for the series: “Oddballs follows James, a bubble-shaped boy, whose observations on life fuel his comedic rants at everyday annoyances and elevates them to laughably absurd heights. Along with his best friends Max (a talking crocodile) and Echo (a girl who claims to be from the future), James’ ridiculous schemes to question norms often result in disaster.”
Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? James Rallison and Carl Faruolo will also be a part of the cast. They will be joined by Julian Gant, Kimberly Brooks and Gary Anthony Williams. The series is inspired by The Odd 1s Out, which you can see here. All we have is a first look image from the show so far, but keep checking back for updates.
