The coronavirus pandemic continues to shuffle release dates in the entertainment world. The interesting part is, not all of them are being pushed back. Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. is shifting more dates for it’s DC movie slate.
The Batman is now moving from June 25, 2021 to October 1st of that year. The irony is, Joker was also an October release. The Flash, despite having multiple issues and potential trouble with Ezra Miller, actually gets pushed up to June 3, 2022 instead of July 1st. Shazam! 2 also has a several month delay, going from April 1, 2022 to November 4th. For now, Wonder Woman 1984 remains in August of this year.
With all of the uncertainty, there is a possibility that more changes could be coming. The frustrating part is, it is hard to speculate either way. There is also no way to know how quickly people will want to flock back to movie theaters once restrictions start to ease. We also have to keep an eye on which theaters will actually be able to reopen.
More on this as it develops.
