For reasons that should be obvious, we knew that a lot of movies would be coming to theaters this year. This was certainly true for DC Comics movies, with four major live action films this year alone. We have been getting bits and pieces of movies like Black Adam and The Flash, but today Warner Bros. Pictures released a whole bunch of first looks in a one minute video. As far as flexes go, this was a strong one. See for yourself:
Obviously the first one that stands out to me is Doctor Fate, who will be played by Pierce Brosnan. Personally, I have been waiting to see this character in a live action movie for a long time, but never thought that I would see it. We also got to see the rest of the JSA with looks at Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell). Since this is the next big DC release after The Batman, it’s no surprise that the majority of this video was Black Atom related.
We also got a very short look at Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. Basically just a quick shot of Jason Momoa sporting a new suit on a cliff. There were also a few brief looks at The Flash, but really nothing that we haven’t already seen. It would have been nice to have a Supergirl reveal, but let’s not get too greedy.
As of now, here are the release dates of all four DC films:
- The Batman – March 4, 2022
- Black Adam – July 29, 2022
- The Flash – November 4, 2022
- Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom – December 16, 2022
