It’s hard to believe that it’s been 35 years since I was scarred for life. That was the first time that I saw Transformers: The Movie as a kid. The stakes were higher, and I was not prepared in the slightest. The first death of an Autobot hit me hard, then (spoiler alert) there was Optimus. The film will always be a classic, and now a whole new generation will get to experience it on the big screen.
Fathom Events and Hasbro are bringing Transformers: The Movie back to theaters on September 26th and 28th. Tickets won’t be available until August, but there will be more info provided during the Hasbro Pulse Fans First event on August 13th at 11am ET. A list of theaters is not available yet, but keep in mind, they will all have different safety precautions and capacity restrictions.
“We look forward to bringing families and fans back to the theaters for this milestone Transformers anniversary,” said Adam Biehl SVP & GM, Action Brands at Hasbro, Inc. “With thanks to our Fathom partners, Autobots and Decepticons of all ages will be treated to a one-of-a-kind movie experience celebrating this beloved animated film.”
Once tickets are available, you can find them here. Keep an eye on our socials for on sale updates. Never seen the movie? Find the synopsis below.
“For millennia, the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), have been at war with the evil Decepticons, led by Megatron (Frank Welker). As the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons rages on Earth, an even greater threat looms. Unicron (Orson Welles, Citizen Kane), a colossal converting planet who consumes everything in his path, is heading for Cybertron to devour the Transformers homeworld and wipe the Autobots and Decepticons from existence. The only hope is the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. With new enemies hunting them down and dangers lurking in every corner of the galaxy, the Autobots take on a perilous mission to save their planet that will alter their destiny forever.”
