Very few sequels that take place decades later are worth the wait. Not only did Top Gun: Maverick buck that trend, it smashed the barrier and became one of the biggest box office successes of all time. If you’ve been waiting to see it again, you will be able to do that at home sooner than you think.
Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that Top Gun: Maverick will be available on DigitalHD beginning on August 23rd. If you prefer to own the physical copy, like I do, the wait will be a lot longer. Unfortunately, the film will not be available on 4K UltraHD, Blu-ray or DVD until November 1st. The 4K release will also be available in steelbook and boast that Dolby Atmos® sound and Dobly Vision HDR that really helps bring the experience home.
If you decide to wait, the discs (excluding the DVD) will be loaded with special features:
