‘The Last of Us’ Now Being Adapted To TV, Lands At HBO

News of an adaptation of the award winning game, The Last of Us, has been going on for years now. It seems like every time it was brought up, it was in terms of a movie. Now, news of a TV series has surfaced and it seems to be the real deal, with some big names attached.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that HBO would be the home for a The Last of Us series. Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin will adapt the game to series, along with the game’s creative director Neil Druckmann. Other executive producers include Carolyn Strauss and Naughty Dog president Evan Wells. This will be the first TV series from PlayStation Productions. The series is said to follow the story of the original game.

HBO programming president Casey Bloys said, “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for us to partner with Craig, Neil, Carolyn and the teams at Sony, Naughty Dog and PlayStation to bring the virtual world of this acclaimed game to life.”
