It's been a while since we've gotten any updates on the prequel film, The King's Man. Now that theaters are starting to open back up, and audiences are starting to return, I guess the folks at Disney and 20th Century Studios thought now might be a good time for a reminder. Here's a special new look at the upcoming film.
Not only will this serve as an origin for the agency itself, it looks like we'll get some World War I in the mix as well. Just based on this look alone, it looks like the movie will still be full of charm and full of gadgets. It looks like we'll get some callbacks, or flashes forward if you want to be technical, to the previous two Kingsman films. At the same time, we'll be meeting some new characters for the first time.
We'll see Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. They will all be directed by Matthew Vaughn. Fiennes and Vaughn also serve as executive producers along with David Reid and Adam Bohling, the creators of the original comic series that the film is based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, Stephen Marks and Claudia Vaughn. Karl Gajdusek and Vaughn wrote the screenplay.
Trailers for this movie have been released for a couple of years now, so fans have certainly waited long enough. The King's Man will hit theaters just in time for the holidays on December 22nd from 20th Century Studios. Keep checking back for the latest updates and our eventual review.
