‘The Haunting of Hill House’ Creator Brings ‘Midnight Mass’ to Netflix

If you think our world is divided, imagine being in a small town.  Not just any small town, but one that is a bit isolated from the rest of the world. It would take a miracle to make things better, right?  Mike Flanagan, creator of The Haunting of Hill House is returning to Netflix with a brand new series.  Take a look at the first teaser for Midnight Mass.

The role of the preacher, Father Paul, is being played by Hamish Linklater.  He's coming off an amazing performance in Amazon's Tell Me Your Secrets, so my expectations are pretty high going into this.  If you take a look at what Flanagan had to say, it seems like he certainly has high expectations/aspirations, as well..

Here's a bit more about the story from Netflix: "Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community - but do these miracles come at a price?"

Flanagan not only created the series, but also wrote and directed it.  Along with Gilford and Linklater, you'll also see Kate Siegel, Rahul Abburi, Crystal Balint, Matt Biedel, Alex Essoe, Annarah Cymone, Annabeth Gish, Rahul Kohli, Kristin Lehman, Robert Longstreet, Igby Rigney, Samantha Sloyan, Henry Thomas, and Michael Trucco. Joining Flanagan as executive producer is Trevor Macy for Intrepid Pictures.

While this will certainly be different from Mike Flanagan's previous project, this also looks like the kind of psychological horror that will leave you on edge through these seven episodes.  Midnight Mass premieres September 24th exclusively on Netflix.  This one is still about a month away, so keep checking back for more updates and an eventual review.  You can get ready now by going to www.netflix.com/midnightmass.
