‘The Hardy Boys’ Are On The Case In December For Hulu

Get ready for more sleuthing this holiday. I’m not talking about every year when you try to find out where the Christmas presents are hidden. Instead, it’s two iconic literary characters finally getting a modern day, live action adaptation. Check out the first trailer for The Hardy Boys series from Hulu:

According to the official synopsis: “After a family tragedy strikes, Frank Hardy (Rohan Campbell), 16, and his brother Joe (Alexander Elliot), 12, are forced to move from the big city to their parent’s hometown of Bridgeport for the summer. Staying with their Aunt Trudy (Bea Santos), Frank and Joe’s quiet summer quickly comes to a halt when they discover their dad, detective Fenton Hardy (James Tupper) has taken on a secret investigation. Realizing that their Dad may be onto something the boys take it upon themselves to start an investigation of their own, and suddenly everyone in town is a suspect.”

Just looking at the trailer, it’s easy to draw comparisons to a couple of shows. The show’s creator and executive producer Jason Stone has worked on Riverdale before. While there is definitely more grit here, one the surface this show seems like it will be less off the rails than Riverdale. Time will only tell just how much of a true detective story we get here.

All 13 episodes of The Hardy Boys premiere December 4th on Hulu.
