Syfy Developing a “Lobo” Krypton Spinoff Series

Just hours before the Season 2 premiere of Krypton on Syfy, we find out that a spinoff is in the works. Syfy has confirmed that a Lobo solo series is in development from Warner Horizon Scripted TV. Yes, the show will be based on the character played by Emmett J. Scanlan in Season 2 of Krypton. To keep the Krypton connection going, Cameron Welsh will serve as writer and executive producer.

While the casting of Scanlan for the solo series was not confirmed, I think that’s a pretty safe assumption. It also shows that both Syfy and Warner Bros. has really liked what they have seen from Lobo in this season of Krypton. Like I said in my review on Episode 268 of the podcast this week, we only see Lobo for a few minutes but they are very memorable. No details were given on a release date or synopsis, other than describing Lobo as a “foul-mouthed, dangerous, irascible, intergalactic bounty hunter.” I’m sure Lobo would use much more colorful language to describe himself.

Now that “The Main Man” is about to be THE man, how excited are you for this new series?
