‘Stargirl’ Finally Gets Not One, But Two Premiere Dates

I think I’ve said it a million times since last year: When will Stargirl get a premiere date. Since then we have gotten trailers, an announcement about the show also airing on The CW, but no premiere date. Well, the wait is over!

Stargirl will premiere first on the DC Universe streaming service on Monday, May 11th. So if you’re a DC Universe member, you see it first and commercial free. This will also include extended versions of some episodes and some behind the scenes footage.

As for The CW:

That’s right, one day later on Tuesday, May 12th, Stargirl will also air on The CW. That should also be a clue as to when The Flash and/or DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will have their season finales.

From original creator and comic book writer Geoff Johns (executive producer of “Titans”, “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” and “The Flash”), STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger, “School of Rock,” “The Goldbergs”) as she moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson, “Old School,” “Idiocracy”) and inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The live-action superhero drama reimagines the 1999 Stargirl comics and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. STARGIRL is lovingly inspired by Johns’ late sister, who was killed in a plane accident.
