‘Spider-Man 3’ First Looks & Teases From The Cast (UPDATED With Confirmed Title)

UPDATE (2/24/21): As I predicted below, it didn’t take long to reveal the actual title of the upcoming Spider-Man movie. See the announcement and our original story below.

Original Story:

Tuesday was an interesting day for Spider-Man movie fans. It all started with Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon sharing some first look photos from the upcoming third film. The photos also came with title reveals, all of which were different. Here’s just one example:

Zendaya and Batalon would follow. So we’re given Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home Slice and Spider-Man: Home-wrecker. So are all of them bogus? Fans certainly had their own fun with title treatments on social media. I want to believe that one of them is the actual title, but do any of them make sense given what happened in Far From Home? That’s a matter of perspective, I suppose.

Given all of the hype, fans though Holland might reveal the title during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. They stayed up late, and went to bed disappointed. To be fair, Holland was promoting an entirely different project, so it’s not like there should have been any real expectations. Chalk it up to brilliant marketing.

As for the images themselves, they also reveal very little. Holland has certainly been no stranger to teases and spoilers, so I get why fans got excited. Look at it this way, this likely means that something official is coming sooner rather than later. The photos themselves were not behind-the-scenes selfies. These were official images from the film. They were clearly given by Marvel Studios and/or Sony Pictures for this stunt. Guess what? It worked.

I’m not saying that it will be this week, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some sort of announcement that Marvel and Sony will say that they were “forced” to make given what happened on Tuesday. Strike while the iron is hot, after all. So we’ll have our eyes open for anything new.

Spider-Man 3 will be released in theaters on December 17th of this year.
