A lot of images have surfaced for the final season of Arrow. Some of the returns are shocking, but this is one I was really hoping for. TVLine has reported that Willa Holland will indeed be back as Thea for the final season. Even better news is, this is not just a guest starring role like some of the others. Holland will recur in the final 10 episodes.
Showrunner Beth Schwartz released a statement in the report saying, “We are thrilled to have Willa back in our final season.”
Thea is probably the character that I have missed the most on the show. Not just because she’s a badass, but the relationship that she and Oliver had was something that I always enjoyed. Plus, that suit is just awesome anyway.
Holland was a series regular for five seasons before finally leaving the show in Season 6. We did see her for one episode in Season 7, but it was the documentary episode. It makes perfect sense to bring her back now, especially with Oliver’s upcoming fate, but it will be interesting to see how much of an active role she will play. Will she be a part of the team again? Will she still be on a mission of her own? Will she have company? I can’t wait to find out.
Arrow returns for it’s 8th and final season on Tuesday, October 15th at 9pm on The CW.
