Star Trek: Picard may have grabbed the Starfleet headlines at Comic-Con this year, but that wasn't the only Star Trek news of the week. Remember that animated series that was announced for CBS All Access? We finally have something new to talk about after the Star Trek Universe panel at SDCC. The voice cast and characters have been revealed for Star Trek: Lower Decks. In case you missed it, let's take a look.
There is definitely one name you'll recognize from this list, if not all of them. The Starfleet characters that comprise the ship’s bridge crew include “Captain Carol Freeman,” voiced by Dawnn Lewis, “Commander Jack Ransom,” voiced by Jerry O’Connell, “Lieutenant Shaxs,” voiced by Fred Tatasciore and “Doctor T’Ana,” voiced by Gillian Vigman.
Now let's take a look at the rest of the crew you'll find on the Lower Decks of the U.S.S. Cerritos.
“Ensign Beckett Mariner,” voiced by Tawny Newsome
“Ensign Brad Boimler,” voiced by Jack Quaid
“Ensign Tendi,” voiced by Noël Wells
“Ensign Rutherford,” voiced by Eugene Cordero
The announcement was made at the panel by executive producer Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty”). He also announced that the first season would be 10 episodes and would premiere sometime in 2020 on CBS All Access.
