SDCC 2019: Harley Quinn Wows The DC Universe Panel Crowd

Not only did a lot of news drop at the DC Universe panel last night, but there were some premieres as well. Young Justice fans might disagree, but I feel like the biggest premiere that night was the first episode of the Harley Quinn animated series. Before the episode aired, parents were cautioned that this show was not for kids. That was a very necessary warning.

There were a lot of laughs in the Indigo Ballroom as the first episode aired. There were a lot of familiar faces, as well as a few new ones. You’ll have to wait until Episode 275 of the podcast for my spoiler free review, but I will tell you, a lot of the laughs in the room were my own. After the episode, a trailer was shown for the upcoming season. Check it out:

Next up were producers Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern and supervising producer Jennifer Coyle. They talked about how the show has been in development since about 2017, and that Kalye Cuoco (Big Bang Theory) was on board rather quickly to play Harley. It also seemed like they implied that they were given a lot of freedom for the show creatively. Harley will also have her “gang”, but it won’t be totally comprised of women. Halpern and Schumacker were particularly excited for fans to see what they have in store for Bane this upcoming season.

No release date has been given, but we will have updates for you as we get them.
